Just a flesh wound...

I have a bit of quirk - I feel the need to photograph injuries, particularly to my feet. I have pictures of really bad toe-stubbing incidents and toe-nail misfortunes...well, this was my latest...my parents bought Rachel this really cool (and FAST) mini-cooper toy for Christmas last year. All the adults LOVE this toy and unfortunately I did not get a chance to test drive it at the time because I was almost 9 months pregnant. I got my chance today...and boy does the thing turn on a dime! My foot slipped off and above is the injury I incurred.

I had lots of fun though! We need a few more so the family can race!

Bye-Bye

My mom has been working hard to get Kendall to wave 'bye-bye'...this video is actually from 10/05 but it's taken me a little while to upload it. Notice she is using her left hand...maybe she will take after Mommy :o)

Trenton, Kendall, and I had the opportunity to watch Presley cheer at a football game this morning! We had lot of fun and Presley was so precise in her gymnastics and cheered with the skill of someone far beyond her mere five years :o)

I'm not sure the little girl in the middle picture is, but I thought the shot was too precious not to post!

Zippity Zoo-Da

"Jaguar is a lazy bones..."

Friday we escaped to the Zoo! It was Kendall's first time and we all had a blast - I cannot believe we were there one short year ago and she was just a little dancing jelly bean. Kendall seemed more fascinated by the children around her than the animals, but it was still fun for us to show her the "real" animals we have been reading to her or showing her via Baby Einstein videos.

She did seemed to leap towards the snakes, which is a little frightening for mommy, but surely her fear of scaly creatures will increase as her understanding matures...

I think Rachel was only 18 months when this picture was taken - it was our first real baby sitting experience as a couple and we took her to McDonald's for dinner and play time. Neither of us had much run time with children at that point, so it was quite an adventure for all! I remember there was some sort of toy with lip gloss in it and I let Rachel play with it on the ride home. By the time we made it home, she had it all over her face!

I just have to post that photo as well...

This entry is kinda random and written in the 2 minutes that Kendall remains interested in her Johnny Jumper, so you'll have to pardon my hast...I was just remembering the moments prior to Kendall's birth and a particularly funny moment came to mind. During the LONG day that I was in labor prior to my water finally breaking, Trenton and I were taking a drive around in an attempt to keep my mind off the contractions. We were sitting at the intersection of Harwood and 121 when suddenly Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out" began playing on the radio. The irony of it was that we had been jokingly singing that song in reference to Kendall's impending arrival into the world -- and we generally do not listen to radio stations that would ever actually play the song.

So fast forward an extremely eventful set of another nine months -- and I hear the same song on the radio as I make my drive home from work!

Texas State Fair...Pumpkin Patch

The family has had a busy weekend...on Friday, the three of us headed to Fair Park for Kendall's first Texas State Fair experience. It turned out to be a relatively relaxing experience because it wasn't terribly crowded. The day started off overcast and with some spotty showers so that probably deterred some of the early crowd. We had the usual Fletcher's corny dogs, cotton candy, fried cookie dough, and yummy turkey leg. Kendall seemed to really enjoy watching the rides spin above her - plus there were many people for her to observe.

On Saturday, I took Kendall to the pumkin patch with my sister's family in Flower Mound. It was a great photo opportunity and took many pictures of the cousins in action. Although with the Kendall being slightly fussy from lack of nap and bad allergies, I did not actually get a chance to purchase any pumpkins! Maybe I will go back later :o)

I just had to snap this shot of Kendall a couple morning's ago...it's the old point and shoot digital camera and terrible lighting but I couldn't let the moment go by without capturing it! She's been sleeping like this alot lately - with her caboose in the air.
