Is this the same baby?!?!

Okay, I think an alien may have come in the middle of the night and swapped my precious child for another that loves to eat...we struggled through the weekend making her eat the three meals a day and then suddenly on Monday - low and behold - the child is LEANING forward and OPENING her mouth...what on earth? I almost cried - I really did.
So I'm loving the feeding times now - she is such a good little chomper...we have experimented with sweet potatoes and carrots so far.

And I just couldn't resist - poor sweet Rachel...I hope you are feeling better after your 'run in' with the tree!

DIY: Using Sweet Potatoes As A Finger Paint

Okay, so you could say that Kendall is not a big fan of "big girl" eating...and that would be a ridiculous understatement! She is repulsed by anything that comes by way of a spoon. In fact, she would probably be the only 10 year old still drinking out of her Podee if we allowed it. She hates it so much that I have only been forcing her to try it every few days but the doctor said we need to at least endure the punishment once a day so to make up for lost time I have been making her eat three "meals" a day.

The picture above is from Sweet Potato try #2 today. She actually did okay with the dry rice cereal this morning - meaning I got maybe half a tablesppon actually IN her mouth, as opposed to on her face, in her nose, on her bib, smooshed up in her fingers, or ground into the table...

Oh please say this phase will pass soon :oP

On a brighter note, Kendall is just about to crawl. She can hold herself up on her hands and her knees but ends up going backwards instead of forwards...that's okay, I'm not quite ready for her to be moble anyway.

6 month check up

Well, Kendall had her 6 month check up today...even though she turned 7 months this past week, but due to the doctor's hectic schedule we started a little late with her first 3 month check up so this one ended up being a little late as well. Her 1 year - gasp - check up appointment will be back on schedule.
She is now 18 lbs 11 oz and 28.5 inches...just a half inch short of being too tall for her baby carrier so we have officially upgraded to the 'big baby' seats in our cars! I cannot believe how fast she is growing up...

Wedding Website

How funny - I was going through some old emails and found our wedding website, which surprisingly enough still exists...

http://www.geocities.com/aggiewedding2004/

We looked like such babies...can't believe that was 5 years ago!

Her head bands arrived!

Kendall has all these beautifully made hair bows and is still a little behind the curve with the hair growth...so I decided to buy some head bands and they arrived in the mail today :o) I bought a white one and a brown one - I think I like them so far although I'm not sure Kendall agrees with me...she already knows how to pull them off!

Miss Fussy Pants

Kendall has been extremely fussy today and to add to that, Trenton has worked his 7th day in a row, so it was the Mommy Show today...again...Yesterday was a different story - I took her on a long walk with Bandit and she "helped" me clean the house. Today was fuss fuss from the start unfortunately. At least she was content while I was at the mall - thank goodness. I decided to take advantage of the Tax Free weekend and bought Trenton some new work shoes. I looked briefly for myself and Kendall but the crowds started to get to me, so we left pretty quickly after the shoe purchase.

And Kendall has said her first word!!! It's "ma ma" :o) I have a few okay videos but I'm having trouble uploading so it may or may not make its appearance on the web...

And her first word is....

Ma Ma! You'll notice Trenton trying to convince her that it's "Da Da", but it's not...it's "Ma Ma" :o)

A little game we like to play called "fetch mommy"

Solo week

Just a quick note before I begin the bottle washing, bed ready-ing routines...it has been a particularly hectic week and I cannot believe it is almost Thursday! Trenton has been in Vermont this week so I've had my first real 'single' parent experience...I definitely have not been bored! I also got highlights done today...still getting used to them. I haven't colored my hair in about 4 and a half years so anything different from the dark is pretty much a shock. The highlights are just around my face, but they are relatively light to the rest of my hair so it's a little to get used to...

I have been trying to catch as much of the Olympics at night as I can...Michael Phelps is rediculously good...I mean, how can a person be THAT much better than EVERYONE else? And I seriously need to start swimming - their bodies are crazy toned. The ladies gynastics were a little of a disappointment last night - I could have just cried for that one poor girl that fell twice - I could totally see that experience happening to me!

Twilight Picnic

Well, it wasn't exactly a picnic because we didn't have anything to eat, but we still had a fun time sitting on Trenton's perfectly manicured grass in the still smoldering Texas heat. Bandit and Jolie seemed to enjoy sharing "their hang out" with us too.

It has been a hectic week - unpacking, getting back into the swing of things at work, and finally cleaning the house this past weekend. I've been meaning to write down a few things that I find just too cute about Kendall, so here goes...I love it when I come in to check on her before she nods off to sleep and find her scratching the back of her own little head. I also love it when she has Bear-Bear in a head lock...she must get that from Mommy :o) I love when she grabs both sides of my face and plants the biggest, wettest, messiest, sweetest "kiss" all over me. And the things that brightens my day the most is when she completely lights up sometimes when she sees me...it makes any issue that may have been troubling me earlier totally melt away...
