New Year...New You

I'm not really a big fan of resolutions - don't tend to make them - however, I was thinking over random thoughts while changing Kendall's diaper for the 15th time in an hour (poor baby has a tummy virus). These aren't really resolutions - more like thought process changes - and I hoped mentioning them here would hopefully make me more accountable.

1) Stop complaining - either fix it or shut it (bluntly put)
2) Be a better example to Kendall - she's actually starting to imitate - scary!
3) Stop hiding behind behaviors because "that's just the way I am"
4) Stop trying to understand why people are the way they are...because they just are and usually you aren't going to change them.
5) Act with love even when I don't want to - I can be the adult in situations even when I'm not the eldest involved

Happy New Year!

  1. Those are some great goals, Kristi. Very simple, and yet so hard to do. I would do well to work on number 3. I tend to excuse myself for worrying because "I'm just a worrier from a long line of worriers." I'd like to break free of that trait!

Sorry to hear Kendall is sick, poor thing.

  2. Those are some good and challenging thoughts. It reminds me of a time when I complained a lot. Desiree picked up on it and now she complains all the time. (Our children pick up our worst habbits.) Unfortunately when we change, they don't... at least, Desiree hasn't... yet. Maybe you can use that thought as motivation to reach your goals. Just say to yourself, "Our children pick up our worst habits." Make changes now when Kendall is young.

By the way, my sister said the exact same thing to me about the electric toothbrush. She even gave me a new one the last time she was here but I never took it out of it's packaging. I'll have to tonight.

  3. Great resolutions for all to TRY and keep! We must begin somewhere and of course realize that no one is PERFECT except God! "Just keep keepin' on" as Joyce Meyer says!!! Good thoughts to remember! Take Care of Yourself and Hugs, MiMi
