Busy Week

It has been a crazy week...I've had an annoying cough for months and the past couple weeks it has festered into something a little worse. I think it's a sinus infection because I have phlegm constantly in my lungs and a horrible sinus headache complete with snotty nose (sorry for the TMI), but the Nurse Practitioner I went to see Wednesday seemed to think it's related to pregnancy-induced acid reflux...hmm...not sure on that, but I'm giving Nexium a week to prove its worth to me.
Tuesday was beyond crazy...I did not feel well all day and had basically lost my voice. My dad had his surgery to remove the rest of the lymph nodes from the top of his thigh in the morning...that seemed to go well...I get home at 6pm thinking that I may not make it through the rest of the night but ended up doing the usual nighttime routine of making dinner, cleaning dishes, and giving Kendall a bath. Suddenly I get a call right before her bedtime from my mother - my dad lost consciousness and his blood pressure fell to roughly 40 over 20 - twice.
So off I go around 9pm to North Dallas - very much awake at this point - and wow there are nutso drivers in Dallas! There was a wreck on 635 - since I had my GPS and my sister had given me a heads up about the wreck - I took the first exit right as it began to back up. I had to get over one lane to exit, so I spotted a car with its hazards on that had a few car lengths in front of it, and made my move...just as I'm entering the lane, I hear the guys engine roar - he was trying to cut me off! I was already in the lane, so I just exit as planned and the guy exits too...weaving drastically left to right - at first I thought his steering was shot and then I realized he was trying to prove something to me! Fortunately, I lost him and the rest of the ride was much less eventful. Most fortunately, although my dad had to stay an extra night in a bigger hospital better equipped to handle emergencies, he is finally home and resting safely.
Kendall had her 15 month appointment Friday...she is 25% percentile weight and 60% height...and she's still co-dependent on a bottle...but we'll keep working on that one.
I start going to the OB/GYN every two weeks now...yikes...and still no name. Now we're just trying to focus on getting the nursery painted before the furniture arrives...surely somewhere between all the family chaos we'll get a name picked out...

  1. Sorry about the paragraphs - I tried 3 times to fix the spacing and it still runs all together.

  2. Desiree was still on a bottle when she was 18 months old. She may have been on a bottle when she was 2, I don't remember though. I waited a while before I took her off the bottle.
