A Time For Everything

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens

Ecclesiastes 3:1

This is a hard post to write and I've fought it for over a year.  I hate being dramatic. I thought of making a Facebook status and then realized that it would either be the longest status in history or I would regret neglecting to mention certain details.

I am putting photography on hold indefinitely.  I would terminate "Two Pink Boots" completely but I fear someone else might snatch up the name and I'm not quite ready to close the doors on this dream forever.

Will I be scheduling any sessions?  Hmmmm...sometimes.  For family, friends, and a few clients that I feel like I can call my friends.  It's really for those people that I continued on this journey perhaps longer than "my season" anyway.  You see - I spent years dreaming for the day when people would actually ASK me to take their picture, instead of my begging them to allow it.  It still humbles and amazes me that people ask me to do this.  Again and again and again.

I feel like for the last year or so I've been a horrific friend, marginal family member, and a semi-decent mom and wife.  That is just not working anymore.  I hope that the time added back from this decision will allow me to do better going forward.

Thank you to any one that trusted me to take your photos.  I very much delighted in every opportunity.

Until that next season...

  1. Oh Kristi! I don't know if I should be happy or sad (either way, I'm crying!) Your photographs capture so much beauty and character, bringing joy to so many! But I'm glad you're able to recognize your limits and focus in on family. I'm praying you'll be able to return to your beautiful talent when the time is right!
