Viva La Kendall!

Kendall is welcoming her upper two teeth - as seen in the above shot my dad took in the local Janie and Jake store. I think she was actually enjoying the hat for a moment...two seconds before ripping it off!

Long time...no update

It has been a little crazy since the last update...I normally do most of my blog entries on Thursday or Fridays since those are my two days home, but something bizarre happened early Wednesday - I got a horrible stomach virus! Ironically enough, this takes place literally 24 hours after HR takes away all my sick days...I won't go into that mess but I had the horrible stomach trouble ALL day Wednesday and still felt weak and nauseated throughout the weekend.
And the fun continues...Trenton catches the same bug yesterday and so I've been on double Kendall duty the past couple days...I hope the house can get and stay well soon!

Frustrating afternoon...

Thursdays are usually pretty busy in our house because I'm catching up on all the errands I have meant to take care of all week. Well, today in addition to the grocery shopping and house cleaning I usually try to accomplish, I needed to take Bandit (our pug) for his rabies shot. I have been meaning to do this for weeks and putting it off because the thought of carting a 10 month old baby and a disobedient dog to a mobile vet on the side of a busy road has not sounded appealing to me.

So today was going to be the day - and it started out very well...I already had Kendall in the car from our first visit to the Colleyville Farmers Market, so I ran into the house, loaded up the dog, necessary paper work, and we were on our way. It's a little chilly today, so I had Kendall in her last clean coat, which is still a little big for her so that makes getting her in and out of her car seat and stroller not fun for any parties involved. So I arrive at the Feed Store where the mobile vet parks, unload the stroller, remove screaming child from point a to point b (neither of which she wants to be), remove the pug and wait in line for the vet. In line for this vet, I have to fill out the paperwork while simultaneously trying to keep the pug from committing doggie-cide by attempting to himself out of his leash into oncoming traffic, and trying to keep Kendall out of the piercingly cold wind.

So I finally get to the front of the line...the vet I think feels a little sorry for me and may be wondering why I have brought my baby in the increasingly cold afternoon....so he tells me to go back to my car with everyone and he will meet with me with the shots. Then begins the reload process....baby out of stroller into seat, etc etc etc. I decide to be somewhat prepared for him, so I start to pre-fill out the check when I realize...I wrote my last check Sunday! And the vet doesn't take credit cards...

I almost cried...so now I get to do this whole fun experience in another couple weeks....

Arghh

Happy Birthday Trenton!

November is a busy birthday month! Today is Trenton's 28th birthday :) Finally I'm not the 'older' woman again!

I've been saving this picture for some time trying to decide the best time to blog about it...I love it - it's like the epitome of being a loving daddy...you are willing to cart your peacefully unaware daughter up 2 flights of stairs so that mommy doesn't have to walk an extra quarter mile to find a ramp :)
This is a little something that Kendall told me the other day, so I'll type it for her here:

I love you Daddy! Thanks for rocking me back to sleep and rubbing my little back at 3 in the morning when I have a stuffy nose and keep waking myself up. Thanks for spending hours making sure my first Christmas tree, my first crib, my first highchair etc etc etc is PERFECT. Thanks for reading me tons of books each night and playing with me, even after a long day at work. Thanks for being a big strong daddy that still wants to shop for cute little pink dresses for me. Love, Kendall

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mother's birthday was on Saturday and I just wanted to take a moment to tell her thanks for everything she does...it would take a million blogs entries to fully describe all the things she has done and continues to do for me and our family. I remember growing up she would spend days without sleep making our Halloween costumes - and they were PERFECT. My Rainbow Brite costume was awesome - I wish we had kept it! I remember when my sister got married and the love and attention she paid to every detail - and when I thought she couldn't possibly do it all again, she did - for me just a few months later. I look at my little girl and can't even dream up the words to communicate how much I love her, and now just begin to understand how my mom feels about my sister and I, and our kids.
Even today when she should be enjoying free time, she devotes herself to taking care of Kendall so I can work. Mom, we love you SO much and even if we don't always get the chance to say it - we are so thankful for all that you do!
